Between Two Worlds
I started to put this piece together shortly after my Mom passed away in early 2020. It was such a sad time for my sister and I. We both loved Mom so much! She was always full of life and she loved doing many fun, but also meaningful things with my Sister and me.
She and my Sister had many great adventures together exploring the history, culture, classic art, and beautiful landscapes of Europe as well as the historic and exciting cities of America. They also loved to visit all the museums and go to various festivals in Denver to learn about different cultures of the world. I also had several wonderful trips in both the U.S. and Europe with my Mom when I was younger. In addition, my Mom and I had countless conversations about everything under the sun; music, philosophy, politics, food (mostly that was me), the changing social landscape, and God were among the subjects we talked of most. In fact, in her later years, she often told me she talked with Jesus throughout the day, virtually every day. I was very glad to hear her say that, especially as she had endured many trials with her health in those years and was no longer able to do most of the things she loved to do.
Anyway, this piece sort of attempts to capture how my Mom greatly enjoyed the “here and now” on earth but also pondered the eternal life. And while I know not for certain, I truly hope that she is now happy, healed, and safely in the arms of Jesus forever.
