Pushing the Grocery Cart

Today we were at the grocery store and my wife, as usual, insisted on pushing the cart. That was fine with me but eventually we accumulated a lot of groceries and I began getting some funny (i.e., disapproving) looks from nearby shoppers; as if to say “how can this loser let his poor wife push all of those groceries around while he stands idly by”. As the cart grew heavier, our progress grew slower and slower. I tried to take over the cart-pushing duties but, as she would not relinquish her position, I realized that the only way we would ever finish our shopping was for me to push HER as she pushed the cart. That also got me some funny (i.e., peculiar) looks but my wife was happy and we finally got the job done.
