Chinatown

This is a piece I wrote way back in about 1994 just shortly after I was married. I must have been inspired to write something kind of Asian-sounding since my wife is Korean. Anyway, I picture the people who live in the Chinatown district of San Francisco going about their daily work, carrying heavy loads on their backs, laboring greatly to climb long hills to their shops, creating the goods they will sell to inhabitants of the city and to those visiting from places near and far.
